Terms Relating To Brake Hose

Brake Ducts

In a braking system, a flexible conduit, other than a pipe joint, used to transmit or store hydraulic pressure, air pressure, or vacuum for applying force to an automobile brake.

Sheath

A protective device attached to the outside of a hose to improve its ability to resist scratching or impact.

Brake Hose Assembly

It is a brake hose with a pipe joint. Brake hoses may be jacketed or unjacketed.

Free length

The length of the exposed part of the hose between the joint on the hose assembly in a straight line.

Brake Hose Connector

A connector, other than a clamp, attached to the end of a brake hose.

Assembly joints by compaction or cold extrusion deformation, or each reload of the hose should be replaced with damaged bushings and rings.

Burst

A fault that causes the brake hose to detach or leak from the joint.

Vacuum Piping Connector

Refers to a flexible vacuum transfer tube:
a) The connector between metal tubes in the braking system;
b) No pipe joint is required during installation;
c) When assembling, the non-supporting length is less than the total length of the part containing the metal tube.

Test Conditions

1) The hose assembly used for the test shall be new and shall be aged for at least 24 h. Hose assembly at 15-32°C for at least 4 h before test;
2) The flexible hose assembly for flexure fatigue test and low temperature resistance test must be removed before it is installed on the test equipment, such as steel wire sheath, rubber sheath, etc.
3) Except for the high temperature resistance test, low temperature resistance test, ozone test and hose joint corrosion resistance test, other tests must be carried out within the range of room temperature 1-5 32 °C.
